Choosing the Right Pallet
Answer these key questions to determine which pallet material, grade, and type best fits your application. Our team is always available to help you make the right choice.
What is your maximum load weight?
Light loads under 2,000 lbs work well with any material. Medium loads (2,000-3,000 lbs) are ideal for wood or plastic. Heavy loads over 3,000 lbs require metal or heavy-duty hardwood pallets.
Under 2,000 lbs: Wood Grade B | 2,000-3,000 lbs: Wood Grade A or Plastic | Over 3,000 lbs: Steel
Is hygiene or food safety a requirement?
If you operate in food processing, pharmaceuticals, or clean room environments, plastic pallets are the safest choice. Their non-porous surfaces prevent bacterial growth and are easy to sanitize.
Food/Pharma: Plastic (virgin HDPE or PP) | General: Wood Grade A or B
Are you shipping internationally?
International shipments with wood pallets require ISPM-15 heat treatment. Plastic and metal pallets are exempt from this requirement, saving time and cost on export shipments.
Export: Plastic (exempt) or Heat-Treated Wood | Domestic: Any material
Is this a one-way trip or closed-loop?
For one-way shipments where the pallet will not return, economy wood pallets (Grade C) offer the lowest cost. For closed-loop systems where pallets circulate repeatedly, plastic or metal provides the best long-term value.
One-way: Wood Grade C | Closed-loop: Plastic or Metal
What is your budget priority?
If upfront cost is the primary concern, recycled wood pallets offer the lowest per-unit price. If total cost of ownership matters more, plastic and metal pallets cost less per use over their longer lifespans.
Lowest upfront: Wood Grade B/C | Lowest lifetime: Plastic Stackable
Do you use automated handling systems?
Automated warehousing, robotic palletizers, and AGVs require pallets with perfectly consistent dimensions. Plastic pallets maintain exact sizing over their entire lifespan, while wood can warp or change dimensions over time.
Automated systems: Plastic (injection-molded) | Manual: Any material

Inspected & Graded
Every pallet in our inventory goes through a rigorous multi-point inspection process. We sort by grade, size, and condition so you always know exactly what you're getting. Our Grade A pallets look nearly new, Grade B pallets have minor cosmetic wear, and Grade C economy pallets are perfect for industrial use and one-way shipping.
Our Grading System
Every pallet we sell is inspected and graded to ensure you know exactly what you're getting. Our three-tier grading system makes it easy to choose the right quality for your budget and application.
Grade A — Like New
Premium Quality
Grade A pallets are in excellent condition with minimal cosmetic wear. No broken boards, protruding nails, or structural issues. These pallets look nearly new and are suitable for retail display, export shipping, and applications where appearance matters.
- No broken or missing boards
- No protruding nails or splinters
- Structurally sound, full weight capacity
- Clean appearance, minimal staining
- Ideal for retail and export
Grade B — Good
Standard Quality
Grade B pallets show normal signs of use but remain fully functional. They may have minor cosmetic blemishes, slight discoloration, or repaired boards. These are the most popular choice for warehousing and domestic shipping.
- Fully functional and structurally sound
- May have minor board repairs
- Some cosmetic wear and staining
- All boards intact and secure
- Best value for general use
Grade C — Economy
Budget Friendly
Grade C pallets are the most affordable option. They show significant use and may have multiple repairs, but they still meet basic structural requirements. Ideal for one-way trips, internal storage, or when budget is the primary concern.
- Meets basic structural standards
- May have multiple board repairs
- Visible wear, staining, or markings
- Suitable for one-way shipping
- Lowest cost per pallet

Why Choose Recycled Products
Every recycled pallet you buy contributes to a healthier planet and a more sustainable supply chain.
Save Up to 50%
Recycled pallets cost significantly less than new ones while providing the same structural performance for most applications.
Reduce Carbon Emissions
Manufacturing new pallets produces 3x more carbon emissions than recycling. Every used pallet you buy reduces your company's carbon footprint.
Prevent Deforestation
The U.S. uses over 2 billion pallets annually. Choosing recycled options saves millions of trees from being harvested each year.
Zero Landfill Waste
Our commitment to recycling ensures that no pallet ends up in a landfill. Materials are reused, repurposed, or responsibly recycled.
Meet ESG Goals
Using recycled pallets demonstrates environmental commitment and helps your company meet increasingly important ESG reporting targets.
Circular Economy
We close the loop by buying back your used pallets, repairing them, and putting them back into circulation. True sustainability in action.

Product Questions
How do I know which pallet material is right for my application?
Consider your load weight, environment, hygiene requirements, and budget. Wood pallets work for most general applications and offer the lowest cost. Plastic pallets are best for food, pharmaceutical, and clean room environments. Metal pallets are ideal for extreme loads, fire-sensitive areas, and applications requiring a 20+ year lifespan.
Can I mix grades and sizes in a single order?
Absolutely. We regularly fulfill mixed orders that combine different grades, sizes, and even materials. Mixed truckloads are a great way to source different pallets for different operations at volume pricing.
Do your recycled pallets meet the same standards as new pallets?
Yes. Our graded recycled pallets meet all relevant structural and safety standards for their designated grade. Grade A recycled pallets are functionally equivalent to new pallets for most applications, including export shipping when heat treated.
What is ISPM-15 and do I need it?
ISPM-15 is an international standard that requires wood packaging materials used in international trade to be heat treated to 56 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes. If you ship goods internationally using wood pallets, ISPM-15 compliance is mandatory. Plastic and metal pallets are exempt.
How are your pallets delivered?
We deliver pallets via flatbed truck or enclosed trailer depending on the order size and product type. Truckload orders are shipped direct. Smaller orders may ship LTL (less than truckload). We also offer will-call pickup from our regional facilities.
Do you offer a pallet buyback or return program?
Yes. We purchase used pallets from businesses nationwide. We will pick up your surplus pallets, pay fair market value based on quantity and condition, and recycle them into our inventory. Contact us for a buyback quote.

We source pallets of every type, size, and condition. Contact our team and we'll find the perfect solution for your business.
